Message from Jane D. Zimmerman, Ph.D.
PAGNY Chief Communications Officer

PAGNY's medical professionals are constantly looking for new ways to improve the quality of the healthcare they deliver to their patients every day. And The PAGNY ADVANCE is a great place to let your colleagues know about these best practices and quality improvements.

This month, we reported on the success of the Faculty Practice Plan at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island in streamlining hospital access to outpatient care and reducing emergency room visits. We also reported on the efforts at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx to reduce readmission rates by vigilantly examining every readmission. Several months ago, we told you about a multidisciplinary project at Coney Island Hospital that significantly reduced catheter-related urinary tract infections.

We know these types of Performance Improvement programs are underway throughout the PAGNY system. Please let us know about them so we can include them in a future edition of The ADVANCE.
