PAGNY is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the PAGNY Board of Directors: Dr. Ashok Khanna, Attending Physician, NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, and Dr. Daniel Contractor, Chairperson of the Department of Radiology at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island.

Dr. Khanna served as Director of Coney Island’s Division of Cardiology from 2001 to 2016 and also serves as clinical associate professor of medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.

I came from a place where a patient could not be treated without insurance. I want to treat patients whether or not they have insurance.”
Dr. Khanna earned his medical degree at Government Medical College, Punjabi University, Patiala, in Punjab, India. He did his internship at Long Island College Hospital and his residency at Beekman Downtown Hospital. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Coney Island Hospital, where he became an attending physician in the Emergency Department and in the Division of Cardiology.
Dr. Khanna is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Emergency Medicine and also is certified by the American Society of Echocardiography and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography. “As a board member,” Dr. Contractor said, “I want to make sure PAGNY does well and that PAGNY doctors get their share of input in the running of PAGNY. I want people to get reimbursed appropriately and help establish uniformity in hiring and salaries across the networks.”
