Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan is a full-service, 338-bed community hospital that provides state-of-the-art care and leading-edge technology in a modern environment. Located on First Avenue & 97th Street in Manhattan, it accommodates over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits, and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. Providing both inpatient and outpatient surgical care. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College, New York College of Podiatric Medicine Student education program, and the Touro College Physician Assistant student education program

  • Prepares and administers general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery and other procedures.
  • Provides anesthesia maintenance and adjustment before, during, and after procedures.
  • Maintains patient records.
  • Orders diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Works closely with surgical specialists.
  • Performs venous and arterial punctures.
  • Performs pre-anesthesia patient evaluation.
  • Provides post-anesthesia care and evaluation.
  • Provides and monitors mechanical ventilation.
  • Communicate with patients, and their families and caregivers.
  • Reacts appropriately to adverse reactions and complication
  • Excellent bedside manner and to build rapport quickly. 
  • Ability to express complicated information in an accessible manner for patients and caregivers. 
  • Team leadership and management skills.

Qualifications

  • A license to practice Medicine in the State of New York
  • Experience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred but not required
  • Board eligible or certified in Anesthesiology

Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $409,000* (board eligible)$419,000* (board certified) based on 35-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between $587,500** (board eligible) and $597,500** (board certified) which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates
