The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Attending Physician - Pulmonary & Critical Care to join our dedicated team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. This premier facility accommodates over 325,000 outpatient visits, 100,000 emergency room visits, and 20,000 inpatient admissions annually, serving a diverse community with a wide range of healthcare needs. The department of Medicine - Pulmonary/Critical Care provides the full scope of adult inpatient medicine services which fall under his/her field of training including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment and coordination of care, to adult and limited groups of adolescent patients. In addition, the Attending Physician in Medicine - Pulmonary/Critical Care, trains and supervises medical trainees and students mid-level providers in the scope of Inpatient Medicine.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Flexible 40 hours/week including evenings and/or weekends.
- Medical evaluation of patients including history, physical examination, diagnostic testing, treatment plan, counseling and referrals based on standards of care and EBM, for effective longitudinal, continuity and episodic care across the lifespan.
- Complete, reflective and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Prescription of medication and DME in accordance with NYS statutes.
- Review and sign off laboratory/study results with timely follow-up.
Teaching/Program Development:
- Educate and supervise trainees at all levels and collaborate with mid-level providers through recruitment, didactic activities, precepting and mentoring.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, department and division meetings and faculty development sessions.
- Adherence to access, flow productivity and quality standards.
- Participate in process improvement for access, quality, flow, patient experience, risk reduction and financial viability in alignment with the goals of heath and hospitals.
- Participate in developing/revising programs, policies and protocols for patient care aligned with patient centered medical home.
Clinical Research Expectations:
- Develop capabilities for clinical research and scholarly activity. Involvement in 1-2 scholarly research projects per year.
- Special projects as identified.
Qualifications
- Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $273,073* (board eligible); $278,073* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $392,968** (board eligible) and $398,820** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
- Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
- Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
- Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
