Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is hiring a Chief Physician Assistant at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. Accommodating more than 250,000 outpatient visits, and more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. PAGNY Coney Island is seeking an energetic and motivated Chief Physician Assistant Responsibilities

  • Facilitate open channels of communication with members of the Emergency Medicine faculty and Leadership team by acting as a liaison among staff.
  • In conjunction with departmental scheduler, resolve scheduling and possible cross coverage issues as they arise with individual PAs
  • Provide direct patient care on assigned shifts.
  • Plan, review, and supervise the administrative and operational activities of the ED PAs related to productivity, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the recruiting, interview, selection and orientation process for ED PA positions.
  • Conduct periodic and annual performance evaluation of ED PAs and coaching with respect to opportunities for performance and professional growth.
  • Precept and evaluate physician assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • A minimum of 2 years of Physician Assistant experience
  • Prior experience managing and developing Physician Assistants preferred
  • Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education, required.
  • Current certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current DEA certification
  • Current ACLS/BLS/PALS certification
