Description
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Gastroenterologist to the join the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals’/Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital. The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals which is the nation’s largest public health system. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. If desired all Medicine Faculty Members have Einstein Medical School academic appointments.
This position will come with a faculty appointment as a clinician-educator at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and it involves supervision and teaching of fellows and residents.

As a full-time Gastroenterologist, you will receive an academic appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serve as a faculty member within the Gastrointestinal Division at Montefiore Medical Center. Your role will involve:
- Training and Supervision: Overseeing and mentoring GI fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Providing direct patient care and endoscopy services. The Endoscopy Unit performs over 4,000 procedures annually across both institutions, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and resources.
- Procedures: Performing a wide range of procedures including standard endoscopies and colonoscopies, EUS/FNA, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, capsule endoscopy, and various advanced endoscopic techniques.
- Research Opportunities: Engaging in research and other career development activities.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
- ABMS Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Proficient use of Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), such as Epic.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
- High attention to detail. Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
- Must be able to prioritize a variety of time sensitive tasks. Consistently display the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $300,300* (board eligible); $305,300* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $425,850** (board eligible) and $431,350** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
- Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
- Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
