Description

Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, located on First Avenue & 97th Street in Manhattan, accommodate over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of the Privacy and Security rules outlined in the HIPAA guidelines.
  2. Successfully completes the mandatory one day HIPAA Training.
  3. Adheres and conforms to all hospital and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
  4. Examines patients, orders or performs appropriate diagnostic tests.
  5. Formulates diagnosis, directs or preforms appropriate therapeutic treatment and counsels patients.
  6. Consults with other members of the professional staff.
  7. Gives guidance and direction to the house staff and other members of the healthcare team.
  8. Provides guidance and participates in the teaching of house staff, in staff conferences, and in research projects as directed.
  9. Advises the less experienced members of the professional medical staff.
  10. Plans, organizes and directs the operation of a major segment within a medical service or medical program in a hospital or similar health facility; or assists the Chief of Service in the planning, organizing and directing of the entire medical service or medical program.
  11. Assists in the administration and coordination of the service.
  12. Assists in the establishment and maintenance of standards of performance for physicians and other professional employees working in the service.
  13. Performs other administrative, professional, consultative duties as needed by the Chief of Service.
  14. Participates in medical research.
  15. Prepares daily work log as required.
  16. Adheres to the departmental attendance policy.
  17. All other duties as required by the department.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved medical school
  • Possession of a valid license to practice in New York State
  • Current Board Certification issued by the appropriate American Specialty Board or Board Eligible

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $236,900* (board eligible); $247,200* (board certified) based on 35-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $404,590** (board eligible) and $415,920** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
