Description
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Research Fellow to the Research group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Lincoln is a designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award- winning Cancer and Breast Centers.
The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Weill-Cornell Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

- Ensure the operating room is clean and organized
- Assist in patient positioning and preparation for surgery
- Monitor and maintain sterile fields during procedures
- Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the operation
- Manage surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment and machinery
- Assist in counting sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure they are not left inside the patient
- Provide support in case of emergencies or complications during surgery
- Transport patients to and from the operating room
- Update and maintain patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimum patient care
- Participate in post-operative care and clean-up
- Stay current with new surgical techniques and advancements
Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited OR Tech training program
- Previous experience working in a surgical setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Advanced knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Experience with robotic surgery equipment
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Professional membership with organizations such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
- High school diploma or GED
