Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant to the Surgery/Colon & Rectal group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi & North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details

The Physician Assistant will work the standard 80 hours/2 weeks. They are expected to be at Clinic and available for OR. Schedule will be Day shift and no weekends.

  • Assist in OR, endoscopy, as needed
  • Assist in Outpatient Clinic, seeing and evaluating patients
  • Performing docking and undocking of robotic surgery for colorectal diseases in the OR, as needed
  • Educate and care for in- and out-patients with colostomy and/or ileostomy for colorectal diseases
  • Assist office procedures for outpatients with anorectal diseases (seton tightening of fistulae) (office proctoscopy) (rubber band for internal hemorrhoids)
  • Educate and instruct patients undergoing surgery colorectal diseases to prevent surgical site infections
  • Educate and instruct patients regarding bowel preparation, anticoagulation discontinuation, etc. undergoing outpatient colonoscopy for colorectal diseases (11W)
  • Round on inpatients with colorectal diseases
  • Coordinate with the GI team care of IBD patients
  • Screen HIV and/or HPV patients with high-resolution anoscopy
  • Follow-up on results of tumor markers, imaging  and other workup testing of colorectal cancer patients

Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant certification/license
  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA
  • Must have proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be ACLS/BLS certified

  • Salary Range: $127,308.00 - $169,744.00
