Wilmer Petite Doctors Day

Wilmer Petite, MD, head cardiologist, NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Tremont

We are honored to celebrate Wilmer Petite, MD, one of the 13 distinguished Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C., (PAGNY) providers recognized by NYC Health + Hospitals for their exceptional patient care at the 2024 Annual Doctors’ Day Celebration last month. Dr. Petite—head cardiologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Tremont—exemplifies quality patient care.

Dr. Petite’s relationship with NYC Health + Hospitals spans decades: "My story is a return to NYC Health and Hospitals. I was a full-time attending cardiologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in the ‘80s.” He called becoming a cardiologist at Gotham Health, Tremont in 2020 a “homecoming.” His commitment to changing public health outcomes in New York City communities is nowhere more evident.

Practicing medicine is its own reward. There is nothing that gives as much satisfaction as seeing how grateful our patients and their families are when what we do has saved or improved their lives.

When asked what this award means to him, Dr. Petite responded, "Practicing medicine is its own reward. There is nothing that gives as much satisfaction as seeing how grateful our patients and their families are when what we do has saved or improved their lives.”

He adds, “It may seem hard to believe, but doctors, in my experience, seldom receive formal recognition for their service. The recent honor I received, therefore, is especially meaningful for me."

Dr. Petite’s recognition is a testament to his dedication and the high standards he upholds in his practice. We are proud to call Dr. Petite a PAGNY provider, as his passion for medicine and commitment to his patients embody our core values. Join us in celebrating Dr. Petite's remarkable achievements and his ongoing dedication to outstanding patient care.
