We are delighted to share that The City College of New York has introduced a new Master of Science degree program commencing in 2016. “We proudly continue our commitment to the Harlem community and our 37-year association with NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem,” said Theresa Horvath, Assistant Dean and PA Program Director of the CCNY Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education Harlem Hospital PA Program. “The new graduate program maintains the academic excellence and student diversity for which the existing undergraduate program is known.” This graduate-level PA program consists of a three-semester, 80- credit curriculum of lectures, clinical practices, and research skills, culminating in a capstone project.
The Physician Assistant Program improves the health of underserved communities and eliminates healthcare disparities. By providing increased access to physician assistant education for students from traditionally underrepresented populations, it creates an energetic workforce, one that provides highly skilled primary health services to the communities of greatest need. More than 800 students have graduated from the current program, and more than half of them have dedicated their services to local communities.
