PAGNY’s Dr. Michael Bouton was promoted to Division Director, Pediatric Emergency Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.

Dr. Bouton is focused on care of the underserved, disaster preparedness, and the development of healthcare infrastructure. While in medical school at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Bouton was recognized with the class Humanism in Medicine Award for his work as the first director of a free clinic for the homeless in Harlem. After medical school, he trained at the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess. He completed a fellowship in Disaster Medicine, working primarily on a telemedicine program in Haiti. During his residency, Dr. Bouton earned a certificate in Global Health Effectiveness from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, and presented research on care of the underserved at a national meeting that included the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since his return to New York City, Dr. Bouton has worked at Harlem Hospital in both the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments, and has earned a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia Business School


David Hoffman, PAGNY’s Chief Compliance Officer, has been selected for membership in the New York Academy of Medicine. Mr. Hoffman was recommended for this distinguished honor by Dr. Robert Klitzman, Director of the Master of Science in Bioethics program, and professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Joseph Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Mr. Hoffman has been PAGNY’s Chief Compliance Officer since November 2014. He is a lecturer in Bioethics at Columbia University, and an adjunct professor of Law and Bioethics at Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School of Yeshiva University.
