Dr. Michael L. Bolden was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he attended public schools until he ventured to the East Coast, attending Boston College, where he graduated in 1981, majoring in Biology and Psychology. After a year performing Biochemical research at Chicago State University, he entered Howard University College of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1986 with honors. He joined the General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital Center from 1986 to 1988. He was then accepted into the Post-Doctoral program in Periodontics at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, which he completed in 1990. Dr. Bolden has been a faculty member at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine since his matriculation to 2009 as Associate Clinical Professor of Periodontics. He has also been a member of the faculty of the Department of Dentistry at Harlem Hospital, where he is Attending Periodontist, working with the General Practice, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Pediatric Dental residency programs. Dr. Bolden maintains a private practice limited to the treatment of Periodontics and Implants in Harlem and the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn for the past 25 years. He has held numerous leadership roles in the National Dental Association, and is a member of the American Dental Association and the American College of Dentists. He is a consultant to the legal profession on Dental issues. He is married to Fran Cook-Bolden, a Manhattan Dermatologist, and is the father of 3 children, none who are interested in Dentistry.
